Why has Google Chrome become so popular?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/01/chrome-vs-firefox-google-mozilla_n_1123168.html

Google Chrome has just passed Mozilla Firefox in market share for the first time. Why has Google Chrome become so popular?

Google Chrome has fast speeds and a large extension shop. Users can browse quickly and efficiently, and the extensions can aid users even more.  For example, the Chrome to Phone extension allows users to take their browsing experience to their mobile devices by sending a webpage to their mobile browsers so they can view it on the go. There are also extensions for Google Apps, like Google Voice and Google Plus. Overall, Google Chrome extensions help users with their browsing experience to make it faster and better.

In my opinion, Google Chrome has become more popular than Mozilla Firefox because it is faster, more user friendly, and has many extensions to aid in users’ browsing experience.

How can standards help us design accessible websites?

In society, people with disabilities depend on web standards for accessible websites. Web accessibility means that a website can be used as effectively by people with disabilities as by those without disabilities. Some common disabilities people may face could be:

  • Color Blind
  • Blind
  • Hearing
  • Phyiscal
Standards can help us create websites that these people would be able to use easier. For example, we can design websites to be accessible to text to speech tools or label certain colors on the screen.

“Website Flow”

We were instructed to create a basic flow chart to demonstrate how a website is loaded.
